ScribeFire - A must have tool for your day to day blogging needs

By ranjanp at 4 July, 2008, 7:55 pm

ScribeFire is the perfect tool for active bloggers, especially if one posts on multiple blogs and on different blog platforms. Most importantly its completely FREE! One of the coolest things I like about ScribeFire is that one can drag and drop text/content directly into the blog post from open browser windows. It’s easy to launch/hide (F8 toggle mode on your keyboard).

ScribeFire is implemented as a Firefox extension and is downlodable at Mozilla Add-on’s. It supports over 15 popular blog platforms. Notable ones are

  1. WordPress.com (http://www.wordpress.com)
  2. LiveJournal (http://www.livejournal.com)
  3. Xanga (http://www.xanga.com/)
  4. Windows Live Spaces (http://spaces.msn.com)
  5. Performancing (http://www.performancing.com)
  6. Jeeran (http://www.jeeran.com)
  7. Tumblr (http://www.tumblr.com/)
  8. MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/)
  9. b2Evolution (http://b2evolution.net)
  10. Splinder (http://www.splinder.com/)

A new version of ScribeFire is available for download as of this week. Version 2.2.8 of ScribeFire has been released.

Changes since version 2.2.7 include:

  • A fix for the “body of post not published” bug
  • A fix for delicious auto-login
  • A fix for the conflict with the Universal Edit Button extension
  • Display fixes for the Ping Settings section
  • Addition of a preference for limiting image width in posts

Existing users can download the plugin the plugin OR let firefox download the update automatically.

And yes this blog was published through ScribeFire!
